about Jasmine Crockett

MoveOn is Proud to Endorse Jasmine Crockett for Congress!

Meet Jasmine Crockett

Jasmine Crockett is a Texas State Representative, a civil rights and criminal defense attorney, and a proud lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Now, Jasmine is running for re-election to Congress in Texas’s 30th District (TX-30), ready to continue her work for the people and usher in the next generation of servant leadership in Washington, D.C. Jasmine has already earned the endorsement of retiring Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson and many local leaders, and she is proud of her proven track record in the Texas House of Representatives.

Championing Voting Rights and Justice Reform

Jasmine has been a tireless advocate for voting rights, especially when Texas Republicans sought to suppress voters. She led the fight by organizing and helping to break quorum during the legislative session, ultimately taking the battle to Washington, D.C., to push for federal voting rights legislation. Jasmine used her platform to bring national attention to the fight for justice and ensure that Texan voices were heard.

In the Texas House, Jasmine’s work extends beyond voting rights. She’s a champion for working families, criminal justice reform, and reproductive rights. As the youngest Black member and the sole Black freshman in the 87th Legislative Session, Jasmine wasted no time making her mark. She filed more bills than any other freshman member, tackling the key issues that matter to everyday Texans. Her work on the Business & Industry Committee and the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee has led to bipartisan reforms, particularly in criminal justice.

A Track Record of Leadership

Jasmine’s efforts in the Texas House have earned her numerous accolades. She is a founding member and Vice Chair of the Texas Progressive Caucus and serves as the Treasurer of the Texas Caucus on Climate, Energy, and the Environment. Her leadership has been recognized by Texas Monthly, the Dallas Observer, and The National Caucus of Black State Legislators, among others. In 2021, Jasmine was named to The Root 100 List of Most Influential African Americans for her work in protecting voting rights.

Jasmine Crockett is the first Black female attorney to represent Texas House District 100 and is committed to continuing her fight for justice, equality, and the people of District 30 in Congress.
