Colin Allred

MoveOn is Proud to Endorse Rep. Colin Allred for election to the U.S. Senate in Texas!

Meet Colin Allred

Colin Allred’s journey is one of resilience, leadership, and service. A fourth-generation Texan, Colin was raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to provide for their family. Thanks to the support of his community, including his teachers and counselors at the YMCA, Colin was able to chase his dreams, eventually earning a football scholarship to Baylor University, where he balanced his academic achievements with his leadership on the field. After a stint in the NFL, an injury redirected Colin’s focus toward his true passion—becoming a civil rights attorney. His commitment to serving others led him to work at the Department of Housing and Urban Development under Secretary Julian Castro, where he fought for affordable housing and fair treatment for families.

Colin’s Bid for Congress

Seeing the need for change, Colin ran for Congress in Texas’ 32nd District, defeating a 22-year Republican incumbent. During his tenure, Colin has consistently worked across the aisle, proving he’s more interested in results than partisan politics. His track record includes bipartisan efforts like bringing a VA hospital to Garland and working with Senator John Cornyn to pass meaningful gun safety legislation. Colin’s leadership extends to protecting healthcare access, lowering prescription costs, and advocating for reproductive rights. He’s been endorsed by a diverse range of groups, including both the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the AFL-CIO, reflecting his ability to unite people for the common good.

Run for Senate

Colin Allred is now running for Senate, driven by a desire to bring honest, pragmatic leadership to Texas. He knows that Texans deserve better than the divisive politics of Ted Cruz, and his vision for the state includes investment in infrastructure, high-tech job creation, and ensuring that veterans receive the care they deserve. With a deep commitment to his family and community, Colin aims to represent Texans who are tired of politics as usual and ready for real leadership that puts their needs first.
