Meet Dina Titus
Dina Titus has spent her entire career dedicated to education and public service. For 34 years, she taught American and Nevada government at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, retiring in 2011. She also represented Senate District 7 in the Nevada Legislature for 20 years, serving as Democratic Minority Leader from 1993 to 2008. In 2008, Dina was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where she continues to serve on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee. Her focus remains on protecting vulnerable populations, improving education, and advocating for environmental sustainability and economic growth.

Throughout her political career, Dina has championed policies to support children, seniors, and the disabled. She is committed to quality education and has consistently advocated for renewable energy, sustainable communities, and environmental protection. Dina’s dedication to affordable housing is exemplified by the Dina Titus Estates, a housing complex for people with disabilities named in her honor. Her legislative accomplishments are wide-ranging, from healthcare to animal protection and advancing women’s rights. Dina’s long list of caucus memberships includes leadership roles in groups focused on infrastructure, pro-choice advocacy, and public lands.
Dina Titus’s Personal Life and Global Engagement
Raised in Tifton, Georgia, Dina’s love for public service was shaped by her family’s strong involvement in local politics. After attending the College of William and Mary and earning advanced degrees in political science, she moved to Nevada to begin her academic and political career. Married to Professor Thomas C. Wright since 1979, Dina and her husband share a love for travel and global culture, often embarking on academic endeavors abroad. As a proud Greek-American, Dina remains deeply involved with the global Hellenic community and continues to be recognized for her lifelong contributions to public service and higher education.
