about Susie Lee

MoveOn is Proud to Endorse Susie Lee for Congress!

Meet Susie Lee

Since being elected to Congress in 2018, Susie Lee has been a relentless advocate for Nevada families, working across party lines to achieve real results. From addressing the drought crisis to strengthening American supply chains and lowering costs, she has consistently worked with both Democrats and Republicans to deliver for Nevadans. Her efforts have garnered recognition, placing her among the top 10 most bipartisan Members of Congress out of over 400 nationwide. Susie Lee also took on pharmaceutical companies and won, helping pass the most significant legislation in decades to reduce prescription drug costs.

Protecting Our Rights

In addition to her bipartisan work, Susie has been a fierce advocate for reproductive rights, especially in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn key protections for a woman’s right to choose. With Republicans pushing to ban abortion nationwide, including in Nevada, she remains committed to defending these rights. She supports legislation to codify the right to choose, ensuring that Nevada families and women across the country maintain control over their reproductive health.

Working-Class Roots and Commitment to Education

Born to a working-class family in Canton, Ohio, Susie learned the values of hard work and perseverance early on. With eight siblings, she worked a paper route at the age of eight and saw firsthand the struggles of a working-class family. Her father was a military veteran who worked at a steel plant, and her mother took care of the family at home. After earning scholarships and working part-time jobs, Susie Lee graduated from Carnegie Mellon University.

After moving to Las Vegas in 1993, Susie Lee became the Founding Director of After-School All-Stars and later served as President of Communities In Schools (CIS) of Nevada. Under her leadership, CIS grew to serve over 64,000 students in 63 schools across the state. As a Congresswoman, she continues to fight for education and opportunities for Nevada’s students.

Susie lives in Nevada with her two children, enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, skiing, and boating.
