We Mobilized the Base

MoveOn members endorsed  85 candidates for House, Senate, governor, and secretary of state seats across the country, contributing $1.53 million+ to those campaigns. Together, we helped elect a diverse slate of pro-democracy Democratic candidates up and down the ballot who’ll protect our freedoms, families, and futures.

Mobilizing base voters to head to the polls in battleground states in a midterm election is critical to beat historical odds.

That’s why we made a concerted effort to remind voters of the progress made thus far under Democratic governance and inspired young voters to turn out and vote so that we can continue to organize for the future.

Throughout the year, MoveOn members helped drive historic Democratic victories, such as federal student loan forgiveness and the Inflation Reduction Act, which will lower health care costs and drug prices, cap insulin prices for seniors at $35, and become the largest investment in clean energy in U.S. history.

We leveraged these massive wins to energize the Democratic base and build enthusiasm to vote for Democrats. MoveOn reached millions of voters, using well-tested messaging to popularize the impactful wins we’ve achieved under Biden’s administration, while holding MAGA Republicans accountable for their opposition to these accomplishments.

Mobilizing Our Youth Vote

In 2020, young voters turned out in record numbers to propel Democrats to victory. Building on this momentum, MoveOn partnered with NextGen and Working Families Party for Our Future Is Now, a nine-stop rally tour in the critical battleground states of Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin to galvanize tens of thousands of voters to the polls this year.

Senator Bernie Sanders and influential celebrities like Tinashe and Faye Webster joined us along the way to remind the nearly 82,000 voters in attendance, both in person and virtually, of their enormous power during elections and to encourage them to triple their vote.
